Privacy Policy
Game Night Wallet is operated by Aionian Pty Ltd ("we," "us"). The app never asks for your name, email address, phone number, or any other real-world identifying information. There is no account sign-up — the app creates an anonymous identity for your device the first time you open it, and that's the only "identity" it ever has for you. Money in the app is always play money for a board game session; the app never touches real payment details itself (purchases, if you make any, are handled entirely by Apple's or Google's own store).
Information we collect
We never collect: your real name, email address, phone number, physical address, or any government ID. There is no login, no sign-up form, and no password anywhere in the app.
What the app does handle:
- An anonymous device identity. The first time you open the app, it creates an anonymous account with our backend provider (Supabase) — a random identifier with no personal information attached, used only to tell your device's actions apart from other players' at the same game table.
- A display name and avatar you choose. Typed in by you for each game you create or join. Shown only to other players at that same table (never a public directory), and not tied to any real identity.
- In-game data, for as long as a game is active or recently ended: who's at the table, each player's play-money balance, and the log of in-game payments (amounts and optional notes/photos players attach to them). This is game state, not financial data in any real-money sense.
- A currency pack you create, if you use the app's currency-customization feature. This stays entirely on your device unless you explicitly choose to submit it to the public Gallery or share it with a specific friend — see "Currency packs" below.
- Basic, non-identifying analytics, such as which screens are used and which in-app actions happen (e.g. "a game was created"), to understand how the app is used and fix problems. These events are automatically filtered to strip anything that looks like an email, phone number, or other personal field before being sent, and are tied only to the same anonymous device identifier described above — never your name or any other identity.
- Purchase information, only if you choose to buy "Remove Ads" or subscribe to "Premium Host." This is handled by Apple's or Google's own in-app purchase system and a payments infrastructure provider (RevenueCat) — we never see or store your payment card details.
How long we keep it
- Ended games are not stored. Shortly after a game ends, its data (players, balances, transaction history) is permanently deleted from our servers — kept only briefly to let players still on the recap screen see it, not as a lasting record.
- Abandoned games expire automatically. A game that's created but never played, or that goes quiet, is automatically deleted after 30 days of no activity.
- Photos sent between players during a game (a custom avatar, a photo attached to a payment, a custom currency design) are never stored in our database. They pass through temporary cloud storage only for the moment it takes to deliver them to other players at your table, and are automatically deleted from there within about a day regardless. If you choose to keep a copy (e.g. your own local "Memories" of payments you've sent or received), that copy lives only on your own device and is never sent to us.
- A personal currency pack you create lives only on your device for as long as you keep it, unless you explicitly submit it to the public Gallery (see below).
Currency packs and the public Gallery
Creating a custom currency design is entirely local to your device by default — nothing is uploaded anywhere just because you made one. Two specific actions change that, and both require you to explicitly choose them:
- Submitting to the Gallery: your pack's name, description, and artwork become public, reviewed by hand before appearing, so other players can browse and use it. You can remove your own submission from the Gallery at any time.
- Sharing privately with a friend: your pack's artwork transfers directly between your device and theirs (both apps need to be open at the same time) and is never stored in our database — the images pass through temporary cloud storage for the transfer only and are automatically deleted afterward.
Advertising
Unless you've purchased "Remove Ads" or a game's host has an active "Premium Host" subscription (which removes ads for everyone at that table), the app shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device and advertising identifiers and usage data to serve and measure ads, governed by Google's own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
This website
Our public website at gamenightwallet.com uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (pages visited, general device/browser type, approximate region). Google Analytics may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser. We configure it with IP anonymization. You can opt out of Google Analytics across websites using Google's browser add-on, or block analytics scripts with your browser or an ad blocker. This website analytics is separate from the in-app analytics described above.
Third parties we use
All of the following only ever receive the anonymous, non-identifying information described above — none of them receive your real name, email, or any other identifying detail from us:
- Supabase — backend database, authentication, and real-time sync.
- Cloudflare (R2) — temporary storage for photos in transit between players, and public Gallery images.
- Amplitude — anonymized, PII-filtered usage analytics.
- Google AdMob — advertising (see above).
- Google Analytics — aggregate website traffic on gamenightwallet.com (see above).
- RevenueCat — in-app purchase and subscription management, only if you make a purchase.
Children's privacy
Game Night Wallet is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. As described above, the app doesn't collect real names, email addresses, or other traditional personal information from any user regardless of age — the only per-device data it holds is an anonymous identifier, an in-app display name, and in-game play-money state. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at the address below and we will delete it.
Your choices
- You can clear your local "Memories" (sent/received payment attachments) at any time from within the app — this only affects your own device.
- You can remove a currency pack you've submitted to the public Gallery at any time.
- Since there's no account or login, there's no persistent identity to delete beyond uninstalling the app, which removes everything stored locally on your device. If you'd like any anonymous data tied to your device identifier removed from our servers sooner, contact us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, post a notice inside the app.
